18 miles in an oven

It's Sunday and I'm currently slothing on the couch. Yesterday was one of the hottest days all year in San Diego. Of course, Karen and I had prior plans to get in a long walk since we are only 2 weeks out from the 3-day! We made plans to get started EARLY and were on the road by 7 a.m. We thought sticking to the coast would be best since there is usually at least a breeze from the ocean. Not the case yesterday! Not even an occasional breeze and temperatures were in the 90s with little to no shade on our route. We headed north to La Jolla and then up into Torrey Pines stopping at the glider port to stretch and re-group. Then headed north to Del Mar and finally Solana Beach where we met Tom, Justin and the 2 Patricks for pizza and beer at Pizza Port - A nice reward to a LONG walk.

The beach was packed!

Made it Pizza Port!

Both of us held up great though I was quite sore last night and a bit this morning. In other news, our fundraising is going great. We're up over $6k, but still hoping to get to our goal of $10k. This week we have a fundraiser at the Corvette Diner on Wednesday night and our BooBQ is Sunday! Thanks to everyone for their support of our team and fight against breast cancer!
